Updating I7500 firmware question

Hi Everyone,

This question is very noobish and may have been asked way to many times but I wanted some clarification on how to go about this. I recently purchased the I7500 where the firmware is 1.5 android and the baseband version is I7500JVIG4. The firmware on the phone is extremely buggy and I saw the link for the updates to 1.6. My question is which version should I choose and basically how would I install the new firmware without screwing up. This is the first time I will be currently doing something like this. I am using this phone in Canada on Wind's network and would prefer the update version to be an English version so it would be easier to use for myself.

this is for the galaxy spica i5700 not for the i7500
