i would rather say a good move indeed, to compete with strongest contender Apple
motorola for the next NEXUS?????
They did it for patents also and it doesnt mean that next nexus will be by motorola...
http://www.youtube.com/user/fatino1234 <<< My channel with Spica stuff (like games, experimental things)
But does mean next official google phone will be a motorola, and i hate motorola :P
Using now - Samsung Galaxy SII - i9100
Switching between: Miui 1.9.9 Beta by bMarko / Cognition 1.5.1 / Lite'ning 6.1 (depends on my mood)
Semi-RETIRED - Galaxy Spica i5700 with CM 7. (still have it)
its for the patent hardware division is just a bonus .
I also hate motorola.. but I hate it for things that might be fixed from now onwards..
_Motobloat
_Crappy software/driver support
_Not-so-great build quality
_Horrible design
edit: hmm, or maybe not

<CyanogenMod-6.1.1-Spica-alpha8.4 + YONIP Kernel #51 + all2ext2>
Guys, at first I thought it was some kind of hoax or april fool's joke (but it's not april). But there's something else than what meets the eye here.
This, basically means to me, that Google got sick of Samsung (who has been pulling off their "Google" phones, like the Nexus), and this move would point towards detaching from them in terms of design conditions and, surely, cost.
This, for Samsung, will mean they'll no longer be a "preferred" android partner, with a red phone directly into Google. They will become just another android vendor.
This might also be a response (or retaliation), in a way, to Bada. So you wanted to be on both sides at the same time, right? there you go... I guess you don't touch Google's ass and get away with it, no matter how big you think you are...

That's really something!
cyanogenmod 8.4, yonipkernel v.final, working 3g stable and smooth, all2ext2, 3d intercept
more power to the remaining developers for our spica
