Im going for Xperia ray or LG O2X. Need some powerful device with community support for longer lifespan.

sold my spica and got a htc desire for a month now
the phone is great, bigger screen more ram and faster cpu
just spend like 50 euros on it since i was pretty lucky and found someone who didnt wanted it anymore
its working great and im not going to change it for a phone with lower specs

Well, I'm still loving my spica, but an upgrade is due in Jan 2012, so who knows what will be around then. Ideally I want a small phone like the spica (I like how it fits in my hand) but I have been eyeing up the HTC Desire S & the HTC Sensation mainly because of the internal RAM, which I always thought strangled the poor little spica. Plus it seems that Cyanogen mainly concentrate on HTC models, which now come with an unlocked bootloader, or some such detail, which makes it far easier to mod in the future.

If only other companies took heed from that & made it easier to tweak your phone how ever you see fit.

Orange are bringing a new mobile out (really just renaming it though) called the orange monte carlo, which is the ZTE skate, a 4.3" 16M 480x800, 512MB RAM and 800MHz processor and 2.3 out of the box, which should hopefully cost below £130, I will wait and see what the reviews are like for the camera and some other things as well as how it will pick up in the developing community, plus I also want to see what the spica will be like with tom3q stuff first. Main reason for wanting to upgrade to it, is for the screen as it looks extremely good quality, almost AMOLED, plus it's 4.3" for under £130 (hopefully)!

This is only a temporary upgrade as I want to upgrade to high end of the dual core, which will either be the Samsung galaxy S 2 or the nexus 3 (released with ice cream sandwich at the end of this year), that's if the nexus 3 is indeed being made by Samsung with a 720HD screen.

As much as I hate samsung after what they have done with our spica and other mobiles in regards to the drivers etc. The galaxy S 2 really is a great mobile out of the box, super quick and extremely smooth compared to the sensation and plus Samsung give a free GS 2 to the cyanogen mod team, so it will be getting CM7 officially and plus it is extremely popular and is selling extremely well, so community support won't be an issue at all.

About 2 months ago I've bought Samsung Galaxy S and gave Spica to my brother. Galaxy S is really fast and great (well, except for the GPS ) but I kept visiting this forum and I was missing my Spica more and more, so got it back!

In more distant future, I hope to buy SGS 2 but it's way too expensive for me right now.

I am getting an LG Optimus Black - already ordered it, just waiting for my Service Provider to get stock. I think it has pretty decent specs and the price is right - the same reason I bought the Spica before

    SpicaGenMod 2.1 + VOKU Kernel V2.3 all2ext2, native CM app2sd > LG O1
Powodzenia tom3q. Pokaż co da się wycisnąć z i5700

The defy screen is no were near the quality of the SGS SAMOLED screen let alone the SAMOLED+ on the GS 2.

Unless you mean in terms of toughness, but both should be fine for that as they are both gorilla glass.

Gorilla glass protect from scratch, defy could have better screen protection against falling and shock.
And it could be better in terms of pixel quality
...And remember that not everyone like so saturated colors like in samoled

Ps I just got lg optimus 3d for one day. Its ffff amazing! I thought that this 3d will be very flat, but games are amazing, minus is that 3d video record don't work in my model(its test model from phone-house)and music quality is low
But when I gonna buy next phone, and there will be problem getting se arc, this phone will be second on my list.
