    I remember reading about some company doing a full 180 on their claim that an updated firmware version voids warranty.
    This precedent would suggest you'll have no problems with screen warranty just because you have updated your firmware (which is well within your rights).

    To install the firmware, unfortunately the warranty is disturbing.
