Prerequisites
- Android 2.1 Firmware Login - (Please register to download)
- Odin Multi Downloader 4.03 Odin4_03-Spica_ops.zip
- Spica Drivers Deposit Files (If it doesn't work install Kies and quit Kies when you need to flash)
Or get http://www.strefapc.pl/download/firmware/USB_Driver.rar .This is samsung's USB driver that comes with KIES

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica Android 2.1 Flashing Guide | All About Web & Mobile Application Development
1. Backup all your data, copy down your APN settings etc (You can use backup apps which save those into your SD card)
2. Do a factory reset (Menu/App Drawer -> Settings -> Privacy -> Factory data reset)
3. Power off the phone, remove your SIM card and SD Card
4. Press and hold Volume Down, Camera and End Call buttons until you see "Downloading... DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET" (Flash Mode)
5. Connect the phone to your PC (It should start prompting for the drivers)
5-1. For Drivers choose "Select from a list or specific location (Advanced)"
5-2. Select the files that was extracted from "Spica Drivers" (If it fails, unplug the phone and install Kies, quit Kies then plug the phone back)
6. Run Odin Multi Downloader (For Vista and Win7 users please Right click and Run As Administrator) [A yellow box with a COM port should show up if connected correctly]
7a. If the zip you downloaded for Android 2.1 Firmware only contains 1 file check "One Package" and click on One Package to select that file you extracted
7b. If the zip you downloaded for Android 2.1 Firmware only contains many files click on each of the option and choose the files accordingly.
8. Select OPS and select the ops file that came with Odin Multi Downloader (It should be 85 bytes)
9. Select Start
10. The phone will start flashing and automatically restart (If it gets stuck remove the battery and set to flash mode and try again)
Note: it can take a while after it restarts.
11. Please check the storage and ensure it is not 0KB (Menu/App Drawer -> Settings -> SD card & phone storage -> Available space

1. Backup all your data

8. Select Start
9. The phone will start flashing and automatically restart
10. You will then see a screen with green text, select the 1st option and restart the phone if you don't intend to do anything.
11. After restarting your phone should have a SamdroidTools and Superuser Permissions in the app drawer.

Refer to "How to install to SamdroidMod" and choose a MT Kernel
If you do not want the other stuff choose just Light Package and the Kernel then Cook.

Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk.
This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.

If it still doesn't work.
1. Backup your SD Card.
2. Boot into Recovery mode.
3. Format your SD card with the tool inside.
4. And try again.
Root is done to grant full access to your phone's system files.
Inproper usage may render it unbootable or may even brick your phone. (Use with caution)

Open your Apps drawer -> Select Samdroid Tools -> Reboot -> Reboot to Recovery
Or when the phone is off press and hold Volume Down + Call + End Call Buttons and hold the buttons until you see recovery menu.
Note: You need to root for recovery.
Make sure you have applied LK2.08 Kernel and above.

Recovery Update E:Cant mount /dev/st16
If it all does not work, reapply your samdroidmod. (Please backup your data)
Settings -> Location & security settings -> Check Use GPS satellites
Settings -> Date & Time -> Uncheck Automatic (Depending on your country, you might not have to do this)
Warning: Compatibility during restore is not guaranteed.
Method 1: Obtain root -> Download Titanium Backup from Market -> Do a backup for all your system apps + data
(If you don't see all your apps at Backup/Restore, select Problems? and upgrade the Busybox)
Method 2: Obtain root -> Use ADB or Root Explorer and Copy your /data/data and /data/app
For Restore
Titanium Backup is quite straightforward, just do a batch restore.
Just do reverse for Method 2.
There isn't a release from Samsung yet.
It still isn't confirmed on whether there will be an official release.

Paid Apps are not available in all countries, you can visit 3rd party market to buy the apps.
There is also an app called Market Enabler to allow you access to buy apps. (Root needed)
Yes and no, it is not recommended as it may render your phone unstable. (You can do it in SamdroidModv2 Kitchen)
Reboot in recovery and Clear your Cache and Dalvik Cache.
If it does not work Clear your Data. (Settings and Data on phone will be lost)
It it still does not work, reflash your ROM.
If you have installed something recently, try uninstalling that app or close it with a task manager.
If not, Boot to recovery, clear your cache and dalvik cache.
If it still does not work, backup -> boot to recovery -> clear your data.
Last resort is to reflash your phone.
Install bluetooth file transfer from the market.
You can use titanium backup or some other backup apps from the market.
Or use pen and paper to write everything down.
It is a hardware design flaw, currently there is no fix.
Menu button -> Settings (Gear like icon) -> Language and Keyboard (10th Icon with an A in the icon)
-> Select Locale (First option) -> Select your language
1. Use other video player apps like yxplayer, Rockplayer etc.
2. Convert your videos with your PC using SUPER, avidemux etc.
Wait for Froyo.
For other firmware just replace JCE with the one you want.
Flash I
1. Select spica_jc3.ops into Select OPS field
2. Select I570EXXJCE.tar into Selet Integrate Package – Choose One Package Option field
3. Tick the One Package option
4. Click Start to start flashing. The timer and progress bar above COM Port Mapping field should start . If the progress bar doesn’t start but the timer continue to run , close Odin and disconnect the phone from PC. Remove and insert the battery and start the phone in download mode again, then run Odin.
5. Wait until PASS message appear in Message box and the progress bar box turns into blue.
6. At this step, you may get the flashing seems to be failed, and you’ll see exclamation mark appears like image shown below. Don’t worry, this is not the end of your spica, close the Odin and disconnect the phone from PC.
7. Remove and insert the battery, start the phone in download mode then run Odin again and follow the steps in Flash II.
Flash II
1. Keep spica_jc3.ops in Select OPS field.
2. Click Reset Files to clear the fields.
3. In Select Images to download panel
Select I570EXXJA1_CLI32638_Bootloader.tar into BOOT field
I570XXJB4_Phone.tar into PHONE field
I570EOLBJB3-CSC-CL167487-OLB.tar into CSA field, and let the PDAfield empty.
4. In Debug Option panel, tick Debug Only and PDA Format option. Don’t tick One Package option in Option Panel.
5. Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait untill PASS message appear on Message box.
6. Disconect the phone from PC, remove and insert the battery, start the phone in download mode again then continue to Flash III.
Flash III
1. Keep spica_jc3.ops in Select OPS field.
2. Click Reset Files to clean the fields.
3. In Select Images to download panel, Select I570EXXJCE.tar into PDA field.
4. If you get an error dialog, rename the I570EXXJCE.tar into I570EXXJCE_PDA.tar and insert into PDA field again.
5. Don’t select One Package option and Debug Option.
6. Click Start and watch the progress bar and timer, wait untill PASS message appear on Message box.
7. The phone will restart and you will get the Eclair screen :-)
