Hi,
I was in trouble too.
My way of doing thing is to convert system to rfs through format (in recovery menu).
It worked.
I had the same prob (or half of it)......need to reflash via odin..![]()
I was reading this old stuff because I have had the "mount problem" recently. Some methods described failed, because /system doesn't remain mounted (independently as I force to mount it, even by adb shell). When you execute the zip update, the update itself try to mount and umount the partition as needed.
Try to check errors in this partition with "e2fsck" or similar neither dont help.
In my case, I fixed it "converting system to rfs through format".
It's important to remark "CONVERT", because with simple format seems to be not enough.
Thanks for all your efforts.
Regards.
I've found a way to do this easily:
1. Install a custom recovery (i prefer this one: Ultimate Spica Recovery Ckmod). This should work, since it only requires the usage of cache, not system/data.
Since spica was Android 1.5 originally, its recovery uses a type of scripting used in Android 1.5 recoveries that is no longer supported by google, meaning tht you nd to install a new recovery. This is required to use the mount zip file.
You can apply the speed tweaks if you want. Here's the difference between the two speed tweaks:
XDA - focuses on speed mainly
FE - focuses on speed and stability
2. Download the file in this post:
3. Done! Enjoy this.
