Revert back to Stock 2.1

I have tried a few ROMS and I now really tired of flashing and finding problems. I am currently on

SamdroidMod 1.3.1 Ultimate Eclair and the phone intermittently keeps on going to some internal sleep (stops receiving calls or sms till I sms or call out but seems normal when u look at the phone.

I have bought S II want to give this phone to my younger brother who just needs for basic phone operations (call, sms, etc) so I want to revert back to stock 2.1.

Just want to make sure I don't brick it so I want to ask the experts here that do I need to do anything else than just flash the latest SPICA firmware from samsungfirmwares with ODIN ?

PS: My partitions are DATA: ext4, SYSTEM: ext2 and CACHE: ext4. Do I need to somehow revert to rfs before flashing ?

If your brother doesn't mind waiting for the camera driver, put Tom3q's CM7 ROM on it - it's MILES better than...well... Everything!!!

If not, no - you don't need to convert filesystems back to rfs, it'll do that automatically and flashing the latest firmware will do the job fine

I already accepted that camera driver is not going to happen and flashed stock too. It works well and honestly now I would need to think really hard to find a good reason to flash modded ROM. Benchmarks score less but I don't care because generally phone feels snappy and smoother compared to custom ROMS and more stable too.

Just curious where do you get the original 2.1 firmware from?

I've revert to the latest stock 2.1 ROM XXJH7 + Lk 2.10 beta3. Really fast, smooth, and stable, full multutasking. Just no multitouch driver and root wireless tether don't work.

Hi, I am also looking for official XXJH7(sammobile links broken), I have found one and flashed it, but it was dutch and had some useless programs in dutch installed that could not be uninstalled, also market and 3G services are currently not working
Just need a stable ROM for the time being thanks
