i can confirm gps now works better. got a lock in 64 secs vs previously as much as 5 mins!!! it's not instant but i was in a window (4th floor) close to a lot of surrounding buildings which might hinder the gps (previously without this gps.conf update i couldn't get a lock). but i confirm a big improvement. thanks sucka, great work!

Works like a charm. Very very fast!!!!!! With and without wifi.
    I am currently using CM8.2.
I think it is more accurate too, before this my position was always off by a couple of buildings, but now it is right on the spot.
Thank you so much, this is a major improvement.
Can any of the mods make this a sticky in the 2.2 development forum, it totally deserves it.

It does work nicely, but the gps.inf file on my Spica goes back to old version after reboot?
What could that be and how can I fix it? Thanks.

GPS is much more usable now.
    Faster and more accurate fix.
30-60 secs to lock (depends on surrounding structures) and 10-20 meters of accuracy.
Before, my position was off by at least 1.5 kilometers.

Amazing, lock in 10 seconds. But it made cellular lock seen slow and useless

ENJOY!
I'm using adw ex... when i try to create a shorcut to lbsmode it just doesn't appear on the list... i searched for it on apps, on configuration and every place it's on the list... and lbsmode isn't anywhere... i checked on apps list and it is installed.
    what's wrong with me?

    EDIT:
nevermind... i get locks on 20-30 secs with libsec-ril.so from darth_llama and editing just the first line on gps.conf

I had the same thing at beginning; a bit too brief:
    - long click sceen
    - custom shortcuts
    - Pick your Activity
    - Activities
    - LbsTestmode
    - LbsTestmode(.LbsTestMode) which is the 1st activity of list
....then start App with that link and rest should be clear

Now I need to figure out how to stop 50gpsfix from overwriting my newly modified gps.inf file when I reboot....brute force maybe = delete ? :-)

Well just delete 50gpsfix from system>etc>init.d and first time it stays longer because it is kind of calibrating but that is generally about 60 secconds, still not fast everytime, in 2.2 i had very fast lock i mean 5-10 secconds, normal lock, and on 2.1 there is the problem of speed and it takes 1-2 minutes sometimes :| i'l look into it today.
