Your discovery related to the "USE_LLI_INTERFACE" solves a big Spica (crackling sound) problem. I'd like to share my observations relating to the cutting off of short sounds (<1 sec).

While the audio codec is open (for example, when listening to music) this problem (with short sounds, eg. on dialpad) is not occuring.

While you are not listening to the music, audio codec is closed, so it opens with every time you press key on dialpad or volume key, and then it closes.

Maybe you will be able to increase the time in which the audio codec is open. Then the first use of a short tone will maybe handle more (following "short sounds").

I think that manipulating the time of opening the audio codec, could eliminate this problem. What do you think?
These are just my assumptions based on the observation logcat. I don't know whether the driver source code allows for such a change. But if that succeeded, it would be great.

Very good observation alejka21... there is really no crackling and partially played short sounds when some music are played.
I use FE8beta9 with experimental antibyte's kernel with soundfix and undervoltage.

Yes. Here is my dirty hack Need more testing. I tested this in dial pad and while volume change. Sounds absolutely normal.
How its work. This application is service. While started it is playing silencing ogg music file with loop.
I thing it drain battery, but while i dont know another method to activate alsa codec.

    snd_service.apk
upd: v0.2 of fix. now for battery save, service started only on screen on, and stopped after screen off.

    ps. Sorry for bad english

I have bugs when I was using the TapeMachine Recorder (high quality voice recorder), the volume and gain are very low compare to the volume and gain before applying the LK 2.09, FE8 B9 and samdroid turbo 9..

    Any solutions??

FYI: the very same fix brought to Froyo CM seems to be short-sound-distortion-free!! (see my post here CyanogenMod-6.1.0-Spica-alpha6.5 - Discussion/Feedback/Bug reports )

On the other hand, qbanin's kernel have no sound issues with short sounds and music played with his kernel sounds equaly good to me as with antibyte's SF kernel
I'm wondering what is the difference between them...

I have followed this sound issue from the very beginning, so your observation is very significant.
    Thanks for it!

So far I tested your kernel on Android 2.1 (I could because both kernels are compatible), and audio-cracks are naturally fixed, but the short-sounds are distorted. So it behaves like the antibyte kernel.

As soon as I install CM Froyo Alpha, it'll check your discovery. I'm very curious

Qbanin's kernels are great and sound quality is good, but currently, like in all other kernels (apart from antibyte SF kernel), problem with audio-cracks (at high CPU loads) is not resolved yet.

If you would like to experience audio-cracks, install the application "Neocore" from the Market and compare the sound quality on plain kernel and the kernel with the sound-fix. Certainly you will feel the difference.
