do i have to wipe data/cache
    or cache only?
    or how?

    *using cyanogenmod 6.2 alpha*
    Both useless!

From now, your phone can not find out where is system or data in Recovery mode because basic recovery mode (by Leshak) doesn't support ext2/ext4mod, you also can not do any update (except restore system/data).

I am waiting for some one to build a new kernel and recovery for Froyo CM6.2 that support ext2/ext4mod.

Use these update.zips while waiting for ext2/4-aware recovery --> [MOD] CyanogenMod Alpha 6.1 for Samsung i5700 (-Tethering+Network Location)

Yes, I think antibyte or Xmister will fix this soon, it is easy for him. At moment, I forget ext2/ext4 mod, since CM6.2 is really good.

We've fixed it already, just CM doesn't contain the recovery, which has the fix.

Then I hope someone (criminal?) should think about it for future CM, since it is extremely important!

That should be possible. I always planned to do that since I like FE, but only if I need to re-wipe my system.

    so you would:
    1. install samdroid kit v2
    2. install FE3 libraries only
    3. install FE8 kernel only or those neat undervolt kernel
    4. install the ext2/ ext4 IO fix

    Reboot between those steps
