You want to be careful. The UI doesn't need to have a NICE level of 10, but the media server might. That optional section there is propably useless, and may make things worse as it could clash a little with the mediaserver level.

I think how it works is that com.samsung.sec.android.MusicPlayer sends data to mediaserver, which... serves it out- IE you hear it. if the media server does not have enough CPU time, it'll pop and click because it can't get the information to the sound device fast enough.

Increasing the NICE level of MusicPlayer may help depending on how the data is sent- but it probably shouldn't be as high as mediaserver. My knowledge comes from rather old task schedulers though- back when you could do things like prioritise keyboard input over display update, leading to a dead screen because it was looping through the keyboard update. This won't happen in Android, but simply whacking the relevant NICE levels up may, quite possibly, cause more problems- like your phone seeming slower.

Hi, I've used many music players in order to see if someone solves the problem (mixzing, double twist, cubed...) and PowerAmp seems to be the answer. I've been using it for a week and it's not producing the pops we have with others, so maybe the problem is not only the kernel.
I've used antibyte's sound fix and it works great, except the small sounds, but I will analyze different waves with fix and without because sounds are really different even when there are no pops.

Someone has realised that playing MP4/AAC sound the sound is clearer and there are no pops?
