Default Pros and cons of downgrading to 2.1

Im currently thinking about going back to 2.1 for a while, at least until tom3q releases his 2.3 rom..... the current 2.2 roms are buggish and have more problems that what i am wishing to deal with....
The problem is the apps: Im afraid some daily use apps wouldn't work in this rom... is there any app that actually has no 2.1 support?
Also, if i revert to 2.1... i cannot use yonip's kernels anymore, can I?

    Thanks

i'm on 2.1.... I tried every kernel and modifications till now and always fall back to 2.1... apps aren't a problem, they all work.
Of course i'm waiting for tom3q rom and kernel,... hope it will be better than 2.1, but for now 2.1 all the way.

So, the most stable roms nowadays are: 2.1 (Of course) and CM7 Alpha4... without camera... am I right?

well stable, you can say in a way
but we all know, samsuck's 2.1 SUCKS
but i will say again, for those who are using this as their main phone, it will be better to use 2.1
but for sure, when tom3q releases his work, than it will the best working FIRMWARE (not mod) for our SPICA
i am really looking very positively for this
and really if Google does not create any special hardware requirements (i am afraid of mdpi screen though), i strongly believe we will be running ICS also

The only reason I don't go back to 2.1 is google music beta requires at least 2.2. I'm currently on SGM Beta 2.1 NextGen_6.1 (FroYo) with yonip. Its the most stable ROM I've tried so far, but I really miss the stability of 2.1.

No, you are wrong. 2.1,of course, but some "minimal" 2.2 roms are.pretty stable too. Sgm basic edition, anxiety... With some decent kernels you have stability and features like camera. I use sgm beta be 1.4 with voku 1.5c and nothing bad happened for 4 days, before that it was frozenlake 3 and another 3 days without unwanted reboot or memory leak. With heavy 3g usage, installing and updating apps via 3g and wifi... Its fast and stable
