How can i backup/restore the data from the Ext2 partition ?
I'm using CyanogenMod 6.1.1 alpha 8.3.1 and Link2SD and I'd like to change the card and I couldn't figure out yet how to back up and then restore the data from the ext2 partition. I've managed to make the rest of the backup.

P.S. the partition has been created from the recovery (for App2SD) and i also have a swap partition.

I used Acronis Disk Director (the bootable CD can see both the FAT and the ext partitions), to clone from my card to a new one. You can also resize partitions before cloning. It is not a free product, however, but you may want to check their site for a trial version that you can use for one or two times.

I've managed to do the copying using a Live Linux distribution. It just "hit" me that i also use Ext2 and Ext4 on the server which is running Linux so it was an obvious solution, i just forgot about it

p.s. most linux distro's have a bootable live cd, you just have to boot from it, you'll get into a graphical interface and there you can use the file manager to make a TAR/GZ or ZIP archive of your ext2 partition and then restore the files from that archive on the new SD card.

If you don't have the resources like what they have mentioned above you can also do this.

    1) Do a TAR backup of your Data in recovery. Then, Reboot.
    2) Use Samdroid tools to backup all your apps and reboot to recovery.
    3) Unmount your old MicroSD and mount the New one. Then, Create an Ext2 partition (This will reformat your new MicroSD and it takes time).
    4) Plug your phone in your computer and connect as USB storage device and copy all the files on your old MicroSD to your new MicroSD.
    5) Restore your data. Then Reboot
    6) At this point your still don't have your apps so restore it using Samdroid tools (Some shortcut and widgets will not load correctly because you don't have the apps in your system yet).
    7) After successful app restoration, Reboot to recovery and again restore your data using restore + format. Then reboot.
    8) That's it just wait for the system to boot successfully.
