Lightbulb What is the best (Eclair 2.1) Rom I can make ?

    Hello everyone..

Thanks to all of the developers in this site for the amazing job ...

for a noob like me it is hard to follow with the new mods and kernels ...etc

so my question is .. what is the best 2.1 ROM I can use for my device ..

I mean what could I use from all the mods and tweaks to make the fastest and most stable Eclair 2.1 ?

There are so many warnings and incompatibly between the mods ..

so for the 2.1 users.. what is the BEST MIX of drivers and mods you came up with ?

Hopefully many people with benefit from this thread .

Thats exactly the same query I have.

I have tried different versions: CM 7 to 8.1, FE and SamdroidMod Froyo 8 to 8.5. All of them have the great and wonderful features either native or added by developers (Thanks to you all) but along with little caveats. One or the other feature (sensors, divx, long battery, etc.) don't work. So I had to go back to my best option: SamdroidMod 2.1 room cooked from Kitchen. Now I am using Kernel [LK2.10.rc1.svl5] with ext2/4/2 filesystem, deodexed package XXJH1.

The most common drawback I have seen in most of other ROMs is the weak battery backup, I hardly get 8 hours for my limited usage (1 hr talk, 1-2 hrs of Internet use on 3G. 3G, sync and GPS are always on). My Spica dries up even before I reach home in evening. If I disable 3G, I get additional of an hour or so. So I have to keep it on charge all the time in office or home.

Is there any combination of ROMs, drivers, kernels and file systems that can give optimum battery use and all features, sensors, etc. Its ok if we don't get the advantage of 2.2, or any other bleeding edge tech, etc.
