    Exclamation WiFi tether overheat

I use my phone as a WiFi router and I download many huge files since I have an unlimited data plan with my network. I've noticed that when I set up the WiFi tether, the phone starts heating up way too much. After I use it for like an hour, I have to turn it off and take the battery off for a few minutes because it's extremely overheated. Is there a workaround / fix for this?

I'm using SGM Froyo 5.7 with FrozenLake v3q.

BTW: I searched the forums for this and couldn't find anything helpful

Thats normal, but you say "heating up way too much", how much? till 40 degrees is normal, above that you need to be carefull. Try another kernel, I used to use this one: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! and it was perfect

Something really interesting, my phone overheats when I use WiFi tether at home (shitty signal at home) but when I use it in an area with good coverage, it doesn't heat up at all

With poor signal, high transmit power and high receive sensitivity are needed so the radio works on full power probably and so heats up.
