you also have to develop drivers etc for the screen and create your own rom for hdpi resolution... you just shouldn't do this

Is like u want to put HD resolution (1980x1080) to a CRT Monitor....
CyanogenMod-7.2-NIGHTLY-Spica-alpha7.2 @ 3.0.8-ahb166+ kernel, 860 on quadrant

Hehehe. Dude resolution and monitor technology is two different things(maybe you should say "put hd screen/module to crt monitor" then it sound a bit better)![]()
I had crt monitor few years ago, befere this "Hd boom" and it support 1600x1200 res(not panoramic but big res :P ), it was 18" NEC with colors and contrast like amoled(it cost almost like pc![]()

It's still pointless.
Firstly, the LCD of the spica is very closely fitted with the rest of the device. Another screen with even a subtly different size won't fit.
Secondly, you got to develop drivers and stuff for the new screen. It's a completely different resolution!

Bumping this threat because I have question:
Its possible to change spica screen wtih screen from i7500?
its amoled screen it have 3.2" and i can buy it for less than 30euro![]()
try 640x480 < 4:3 = 4-1 : 3-1 =3:2
Just assume it's impossible or buy it and check yourself. It must support 18bpp RGB video input, use 1.8V and/or 3.0V voltages and LCD controller must be able to communicate over two wire SPI-like bus. It won't work without adding a driver for it to the kernel and changing platform data to use it instead of our current one and it won't work before the kernel loads, so in download mode it will show a black screen or some garbage.
