Touchwiz3 Launcher for the Spica [MDPI screen]

Derived from rolle3k's excellent port [MOD] TouchWiz for Froyo FRF83 - xda-developers , and ispired by sisqo's work here is my hack-ish attempt to make the Touchwiz3 launcher from the Galaxy S fit our spicas. Consider this as a beta 0.1 version as there are still a lot of issues, but most of the gui elements now fit properly.

[2010-08-18] Update: i5500-based TW3 launcher release

Releasing the i5500 derived touchwiz 3 launcher ported and modded by me. Pretty snappy compared to the others.

i5500 launcher details

Derived from launcher of I5500XWJG9 FW.
Corrected dock phone and contact icons to launch spica version of these apps. Was quite fcking hard to do. These are still NOT customizable.
Added some nicer graphics to certain ui elements. Optimized some others resulting in smaller file size.
Make app drawer bg dark gray, was blue.
Addded custom solution to missing samsung widgets item.

UPDATE: [OPTIONAL] i5800-based update B02-Test: 1 Text Line Icons

Releasing a test, nothing really updated from B02. Testing out a layout that more approximates the i5800 app drawer, using just one line of text for the icons instead of two.

With that change though I was able to enlarge the tile/ icon sizes a bit, proportionally more larger than the Galaxy S icons.
The text doesn't scroll if it's too long too long unlike homescreen icons.
Also tweaked the List Layout more to lessen the area hidden by the dock.
Update name is TW3Launcher-i5800-kenshin-b02.test.1LineDrawer.apk, unzip using 7-zip.

i5800-based update B02 Details

Recommended update to B01.
Updated graphics to use hdpi version.
Tweaked graphic elements locations should line up better.
Tweaked displayable area for List mode, last items should not be covered by the dock anymore.
This is multi-locales, but less than GalaxyS version (ex. no Swedish)
Smaller file size than GalaxyS.
Issues with widgets with text still remain, maybe unresolvable.

GalaxyS-based update 02.01 Details

Updated some ninepath graphics, as a result the Homescreen Folder icon glitch is now gone
Hence, GalaxyS-based update 2 (TW3Launcher_i9000-kenshin-upd02.apk) is now removed.
Tweaked graphic elements locations should line up better.
Tweaked displayable area for List mode, last items should not be covered by the dock anymore.
This has more locales than the i5800 version so choose this in case your language is included.
Issues with widgets with text still remain, maybe unresolvable.

Details:

Based on the galaxyS launcher port. Tried to cleanup code relative to initial version. May be possible to be used on all screen densities as result. Uses stock HDPI graphics.
Adjusted some graphic element layout.
Text in widgets may still be skewed, such as ES task manager widget.
Release name is TW3Launcher_i9000-kenshin-upd02.

Details

Uploaded a minor update, just re-did some text sizes. Hence, removing b01 for tidiness. Get b01.01 instead.

Alright played with the i5800 launcher port given by rolle3k thru sisqo [major thanks again guys!] and came up with an updated version. *Download TW3Launcher-i5800-mdpi-kenshin-b01.
Notes:

All languages should be still included Nope mistaken, pending indefinitely for now.
Most if not all images are now native mdpi [thank god for batch processing scripts]. Had to re-add .9.pngs that didnt resize correctly.
As such, this is now an mdpi-biased launcher, and could in theory should look ok in ldpi or hdpi screens also. Feedback on this please.
The folders on homescreen bug is gone [due to the much complete and cleaner port compared to the galaxy s one].
Speed and cpu load isn't noticeably faster/ better (nor worse) than the galaxy s based one.
Very small file size versus the galaxy s port.
For the default dock items, I'm testing out an option that if handcent sms is not installed, it will instead show the stock messaging app.

Initial Release Notes (skip this, get updated version below)

Take note of the following:

This has been tested extensively on my spica, it would not look right anymore with HDPI or LDPI screens. Feedback if other MDPI units look ok with this.
I've added in a few ninepath .9.pngs where needed the most, there may be still some missed items.
I've modified the default startup items on the deskscreen as well as the dock (see screenshot), this most especially was not working as only the messaging icon comes up. Take note that instead of the stock messaging icon come up, I used Handcent SMS instead.
Though all 4x4 icons fit in the app drawer, I had to reduce the icon sizes to do so so it may not appear similarly sizewise to the galaxy s.

Bugs I know: tried to fx the folders by adding proper ninepath pngs but they still look off but better than before, scrollable widgets don't work, samsung widgets still aren't there, text overlap I can't do much without making the text too small or big.

I attempted to make this mod for the sole reason to make TW3 launcher fit the spica at first install. DO NOT expect me to update this frequently, DO NOT expect me to fix any errors that may occur from using this mod. Mainly because I'm not capable to do so. I'm not really a developer, just did this as test. Feedback is welcome though.

Please DO NOT mirror anywhere else. Only get my releases from links I provided. Much appreciated as I'd like to keep tabs on where these guys are going.

good job, best port so far out there of the touchwiz launcher for mdpi. credit also to rolle and sisqo for getting the ball rolling. gui-wise i think its mostly perfect. performance wise can you do some tweaks? it seems that coming from the app drawer or from some apps it takes a while for the home screen to redraw widgets and shortcuts. the cpu has to run at max clock speed to redraw everything. so there is a lag plus it wastes battery. do you notice the same thing? thanks again

It's mainly elegance spica metamorph services.jar + framework-res only, then used a transparent bar metamorph on top of that, with other custom icons

CPU-use wise, I monitored it using os monitor, it really was not much higher than launcherpro, just that launcherpro is much smoother. Did a lot cycles of closing opening the app drawer between them to determine this.

Tweaking the animation though don't know how to do it, think its a java thing which i have zero knowledge.. I did edit a setting for the animation speed but it didnt seem of much effect.

by the way is it possible to make the options in the menu in the launguage like the phone is , cus the options are in english and my phone is in swedesh....
