    Question i9000 Gingerbread update

I bought a Galaxy S and it has 2.2 now, but I hear the official 2.3 update is available here where I live. So I wanted to ask, is it safe to update via Kies now if i dont want to start messing with root/custom ROMs/firmwares yet? I also hear there is a problem with Win7 64bit. I have this, so what should i do?

there is even 2.3.4 update (leaked), fastest official rom so far, but has some little bugs, but i like it so far.
Version is XXJVP, you can find one package, firmware with odin.
link to forum (tutorials and links to files you will find there)
    [ODIN][CWM][BASE] Ficeto's JVP Base ROM | DarkyROM

direct link to file (package contains firmware and odin).
    rooted XXJVP

and depending on your country use modem of your taste, or check baseband in your settings > about > baseband version
and find modem according the one in your phone.

Ok, I updated successfully to Gingerbread, but I don't like TouchWiz. Is there a firmware that's like official 2.3 but without TouchWiz?

Edit: With no TouchWiz I mean looks the same as on Nexus S

I already did that. I want a firmware that is completely stock Android 2.3, like normal lockscreen, normal apps, normal notification bar and stuff like that.
