    Default I9003 anybody?

It seems to be as half-baked as Spica. And some say it's a good upgrade from Spica.

Definitely.. Its a good update from Spica interms of hardware and software. The official gingerbread is awaited. The screen is LCD, but great depth of colour and brightness. Performance of Processor is better than SGS. All in all a good phone but no forum and unofficial development support yet.

I have Samsung Galaxy Spica, and just upgraded to the i9003. I am keeping the Spica to play with it.

I would love to contribute to development on i9003. I can work on the Kernel(driver level, porting, graphics etc.). I haven't a lot of exposure to Android stack, but I would love to get some help to learn. We should start by requesting a new list for Samsung Galaxy i9003.

    Gaurav.

Very much interested in buying this phone, but the setback of samsung after sales service. But I think hardware wise it is good. The only difference with sgs is the amoled feature. I can live without it. I hope that it will be updated to gingerbread or honeycomb or be ready for future os upgrades. And also be much cheaper soon...

Only draw back is no development forum for this device yet. Will have to wait. There is a small community at XDA, but no separate section yet.we are posting in I9000 section. Looking forward for custom recovery for this device.

Btw, I've rooted my 9003 and installed Lag Fix v1 (using OCLF). It has noticeably improved the performance.

Stock Android 2.2.1 (KB1) has somewhat laggy interface, although the hardware seems to be pretty fast.

I flashed XXKB3, from DDKB2. Happy with this FW. Everything is good GPS lock, battery and stability. Today, swapped External SD(16 GB) as internal and Internal as External. Now I have 16 Gb internal phone memory. This has slightly compromised the read write speed, decreased by 100 units. Not sure if it is due to this swap. But still great.

Well I have started a thread at XDA. You will find all the details there. Its in the forum for I9000 in the I9003 development section. I am in office and dont have access to my own PC but office PC with restricted access. You can also search it in google with the words "[I9003][MOD] swap internal SDCARD with external_SD".
