This is the plus version,.... i9001.... and the roms from i9000 are not compatible.... the community is quite small and there is not a really huge development going on....

It's got its own sub-forum on xda. There are some custom ROMs available. I'm currently testing MoonROM 4.0 made by some polish guys. Based on KQB Value Pack. So far the best one I've ever had installed on SGS+.

AFAIK there's no official support for SGS+ from MIUI team. I've seen a fanmade port, but I think it's not fully functional yet.
As for CM, there are some builds, but with huge problems, mainly audio and camera. They are mostly abadoned ATM.

Right now SGS+ is offered almost for free by couple of European carriers, so I'm betting the community will rapidly grow.
