Default Root (Superuser 2.3.5) + working Recovery for i9000XXJPC (Froyo)

WARNING: THIS METHOD CAN BE DANGEROUSE. DO NOTHING IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU DO.
I CAN'T BE RESPONSIBLE IF YOU TRANSFORM YOUR I9000 LIKE A BRICK

If you have clear JPC firmware (you don't have root) or you want add Recovery to your rooted JPC firmware

    Download Root_for_i9000_JPC.7z (13.51 MB)

    • Unpack
    • Put update.zip to the root of SD card
    • Run Odin with Auto Reboot UN-checked, loading the i9000_Kernel.tar as PDA
    • Put the phone into download mode and flash the i9000 Kernel.
    • Pull the battery. reboot into recovery mode and flash the update.zip
    • Pull the battery again, reboot into download mode again.
    • Run Odin with Auto Reboot checked, loading the I9000XXJPC_KERNEL.tar as PDA
    • reboot.

    Advantages
    1. Root via su+Superuser 2.3.5
    2. Recovery (2e) install any update.zip (Recovery dosn't check sign)
    3. Root in adb recovery (via su)

    PS.
    i9000_Kernel.tar & I9000XXJPC_KERNEL.tar I've got from this: Root for I9000XXJPC inside - xda-developers
    Recovery+ from i9000_Kernel.tat

Now if you reboot to recovery you can install unsigned update.zip

If you like my work, check here

For developers, check update.zip, if you want full rewrite /system & safe recovery

Leshak, the recovery 2e is working. Thanks for downgrade.

I flashed the jp2 kernel, apply your update.zip and flashed back the jpc kernel.
I de-odexed the jpc rom, put all the system apps and framework files into an update.zip, and it updated successfully.

Coming back to the recovery 3e, is there any way to get the signature verified correctly?

Also, CWM does not work for this even though an update.zip can be flashed without the verification process. But that is understandable since eclair mounting the sdcard is different from froyo which is mounted as /mnt/sdcard. Hence when CWM runs, it stops when it cannot find the /sdcard/.

    Thanks Leshak!

I tried to run clockwork recovery, but recovery did'n work normaly
problem with mount SD and system
if you want, I can upload here update.zip with clcokwork recovery, but
    - can't apply any zip from SD (problem with SD)
    - you can apply update.zip, but before should mount /system manually

3e check signature! if you want, you can get recovery install script from my update.zip and intergrate it to you update
    get
    /system/bin/recovery (script)
    /system/xbin/recovery/... (files for script)
