INSTALLATION
If updating from 2.1 do wipe data/cache BEFORE installing SGM.
1. Push it to your SDcard, go to recovery and apply pushed file.
2. After complete boot make reboot one more time!
This update won't wipe your data!
Remember this is still BETA! We guess even after first boot you'll face a little problem with SetupWizard (if you won't set Google account). It's completely normal and will be fixed!

SGM+ X v4.9
If you have already installed Android 2.2 Froyo -> appy the "Mod + X" via Recovery :-) otherwise ...
1.) Odin + spica_jc3: "I570EXXJH6.tar"
Windows:
1.1) install driver
1.2) start Odin, select new files + "spica_jc3.ops"
1.3) do not connect Spica with you pc -> press "quieter+camera+hang" to boot in the download-mode
1.4) connect Spica with your pc -> start odin-update
2.) Odin + spica_jc3: "i5700_LK2-08_PDA.tar"
3.) press "quieter+call+hang" -> "Wipe" -> "Wipe data/cache"
4.) Recovery: "CyanogenMod + X"
1.) Battery Calibration
1.1) Battery Calibration? -> "Calibration needs to be done after flashing a new ROM, but you can calibrate any time you think your battery is miscalibrated. This program does it by removing the batterystats.bin system file. The OS generates a new clean batterystats file soon, thus any fake information from the previous ROM is removed.
It's suggested, but not necessary, to let the phone fully discharge after calibration, then charged to 100% without break."
1.2) Battery Calibration! -> "If anyone has a battery drain after an update/kernel change, wipe batterystats via recovery. At first, charge your phone to 100% when it's on. turn it off and connect the charger again. Wait till the battery on the screen says "battery fully charged". Disconnect the charger & reboot directly into the recovery and wipe the batterystats."
PS: maybe you can also try this App for calibrate your battery -> Easiest way i found to calibrate my battery
2.) More Battery Life Out of Your Android
What do you do when your battery is about to die ...??
2.1) Use the Power Widget to Easily Toggle GPS, Bluetooth, Wireless, and Screen Brightness
2.2) 3G - requires a lot of power, so you can choose "2G Only"
2.3) Backlight - adjust the backlight to be less bright (Settings –> Display –> Brightness)
2.4) Wi-Fi - disable Wi-Fi when you don’t need it
2.5) Bluetooth - disable Bluetooth when you don’t need it
2.6) GPS - disable GPS when you don’t need it
2.7) Disable Apps that Sync Constantly
For example you can use the "k-9"-Email App instead of the built-in Email application and activate the Push technology from "k-9" to get you mails.
2.8) Background-Apps
Try the OS Monitor-App to see how much resources your running Apps consume!!!
But also other background-apps like twitter, facebook etc. can reduce the battery-time, so you can change the Update-Interval (Settings –> Background Updates) or try e.g. "MinFreeManager"-app or "SSSwitch" and configure the kernel settings to kill background-apps without installing a app for killing apps BUT this will reducing the multitasking features from your phone!
2.9) More general Information
-> Complete Guide to Maximizing Your Android Phone’s Battery Life - How-To Geek
3) Battery Manager Apps
Maybe you can also try a Battery Manager App, but I don't need/use it and if you try the above tips I think you will also not need it
- "SuperPower"
- "JuiceDefender"
1.) New kernel
"The only effect of this "fake OC" is that there is higher frequency shown in /proc/cpuinfo, because cpufreq "thinks" that the CPU runs at higher frequency than it actually runs. In other words, "fake" means "fake", so there is EXACTLY NO OC at this point." - tom3q
----------------------
my default-> VOKU-kernel
----------------------
stable ! -> PIXIE-kernel & PIXIE-kernel V9
----------------------
better performance ? -> YONIP-kernel
----------------------
better battery time ? -> FrozenLake-kernel
----------------------
stable ? -> Lukiqq-kernel
----------------------
Info:
24Bpp: no screenshots + better color quality
16Bpp: screenshots - less color quality
AiO -> All in One: video drivers, etc. ...
2.) System & kernel parameter settings
If you have problems with this Tweaks you can easily remove any Tweaks (ssswitch, pixiebob, etc...) by apply REMOVE_CM-tweaks v2 via recovery!!!
2.1) SSSwitch (Screen State Switch)
-> tweak for kernel & net & i/o & memory - (/system/ssswitch.conf + /system/etc/init.d/98ssswitch)
If you want more power, more free memory or more battery-time, start the "Terminal-Emulator"-App (or use the Android Debug Bridge [adb]) first type su and then ssscfg
Code:/opt/android-sdk-linux_x86/platform-tools/adb shellStandard settings >>>Code:# su # ssscfg ********************************************* ssscfg configures the Screen State Switch script (/etc/init.d/98ssswitch) and also loads preset profiles. Please choose an option below and press Enter. -------------------------------- [1] Standard settings [2] Advanced settings [3] Info / Backup [4] Apply changes and exit -------------------------------- [Enter] Exit without applying changes
[1] Enable | CPU settings
-> here you can enable or disable automatic CPU settings, e.g. if screen is off CPU run only with 66MHz but this can cause problems if you run Apps if screen is off e.g. music ... so I have deactivated this settings by default!
You can configure this via ...
... "Standard settings" >"Load preset CPU profiles" ... or ...
... "Advanced settings" > "Customize CPU setting when Sceen is OFF"
[2] Enable | kernel CPU setting if Sceen is ON
-> here you can enable or disable automatic CPU settings also if screen is ON, otherwise SSSwitch will only change CPU settings if screen is OFF!
You can configure this via ...
... "Standard settings" >"Load preset CPU profiles" ... or ...
... "Advanced settings" > "Customize CPU setting when Sceen is ON"
[3] Disable | MEMORY settings
-> here you can enable or disable memory settings for Apps ... this allows you to edit the settings for Androids automatic memory cleaning routines. It's based on the discussion and ideas from XDA Developers. But you will have less multitasking, if you use aggressive settings for app-memory, because apps in background will be killed!
You can configure this via ...
... "Standard settings" > "Load preset MEMORY profiles" ... or ...
... "Advanced settings" > "Customize MEMORY settings"
[4] Enable | LOCK APPS in MEMORY
-> here you can enable or disable the option to keep Apps in memory, but I think we have the same settings also in the "SpicagenMod settings" -> "Performance" -> e.g. "Lock phone app in memory"
You can configure this via ...
... "Standard settings" > "Load preset LOCK APPS in MEMORY settings"
[5] Disable | 3G/Edge speed
-> here you can enable or disable the network-tweak, it's enabled by default!
[6] Disable | I/O speed
-> here you can enable or disable the I/O-tweak for your internal & external storage. This maybe need some testing, because not every SD-Card need the same settings...
You can configure this via ...
... "Advanced settings" > "Customize I/O settings" ... and ...
... "Advanced settings" > "Customize Swap settings"
3.) New 3D drivers
Intercept3D-drivers
-> Intercept3D (/system/lib/...)
... but you don't need it if you use "SpicagenMod + X" because it's already included!
4.) optimized GPS settings
-> Sensors/Compass & Working GPS
... but you don't need it if you use "SpicagenMod + X" because it's already included!
4.1) new time server
-> Forum.xda-developers.com (/system/etc/gps.conf)
gps.conf: edit "1.de.pool.ntp.org" to "1.XXXXX.pool.ntp.org" -> pool.ntp.org: NTP Servers in Europe, europe.pool.ntp.org
... here is my file
Code:NTP_SERVER=0.de.pool.ntp.org NTP_SERVER=1.de.pool.ntp.org NTP_SERVER=2.de.pool.ntp.org NTP_SERVER=3.de.pool.ntp.org XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin # DEBUG LEVELS: 0 - none, 1 - Error, 2 - Warning, 3 - Info # 4 - Debug, 5 - Verbose DEBUG_LEVEL =0 # Intermediate position report, 1=enable, 0=disable INTERMEDIATE_POS=0 # Accuracy threshold for intermediate positions # less accurate positions are ignored, 0 for passing all positions ACCURACY_THRES=0 # Report supl ref location as position, 1=enable, 0=disable REPORT_POSITION_USE_SUPL_REFLOC=1 # Wiper (wifi positioning), 1=enable, 0=disable ENABLE_WIPER=1 ################################ ##### AGPS server settings ##### ################################ # FOR SUPL SUPPORT, set the following SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com SUPL_PORT=7276 SUPL_NO_SECURE_PORT=7276 SUPL_SECURE_PORT=7276 # FOR C2K PDE SUPPORT, set the following # C2K_HOST=c2k.pde.com or IP # C2K_PORT=1234 ################################# ##### AGPS Carrier settings ##### ################################# CURRENT_CARRIER=common DEFAULT_AGPS_ENABLE=TRUE DEFAULT_SSL_ENABLE=FALSE # TRUE for "User Plane", FALSE for "Control Plane" DEFAULT_USER_PLANE=TRUE
5.) LIBSQLITE update
-> BOOST your I/O Performance apply via recovery - (/system/lib/libsqlite.so)
... but you don't need it if you use "SpicagenMod + X" because it's already included!![]()
PS: Sorry, I have included a wrong SQLite3 version in SGM +X v4.9 and 5.1![]()
6.) Block ads
-> Remove-ads-applications-games (more info -> Hosts file) (/system/etc/hosts)
This file block ads from your whole System (Apps, Browser etc.) ... you can use this also for your computer at home
7.) New DNS server (google-DNS Server can be faster)
-> OpenDNS | Internet Navigation And Security (/system/etc/resolv.conf)
But maybe the default google dns-server are faster ...Code:nameserver 208.67.222.222 nameserver 208.67.220.220![]()
8.) "Compcache"
-> enable Compcache
Compcache, also known as "ramzswap kernel module" called swap created in memory and compresses it. So that although the CPU has to do everything again, but we can outsource more ... and have more memory! :-) if you need more memory enable Compcache with "26%" but first try the "MEMORY settings" from SSSwitch or the "MinFreeManager"-App to kill apps (you don't need a App-Killer-App, that running in background and also need memory) but you will have less multitasking, if you use aggressive settings for app-memory!Code:"Settings" > "SpicagenMod settings" > "Performance" > "Compcache memory usage" ...
9.) "BOOST Spica Performance"-Apps
9.1) New "Launcher"
-> LauncherPro (/system/app/...)
... but you can choose it in the kitchen-> Spica Kitchen by Macław
9.2) "Autorun Manager"-App
-> "Autorun Manager" -> disable -> CMStats, OpenVPN Settings ... - (/system/app/...)
But maybe the better way is to uninstall this Apps or install less Apps via kitchen ...![]()
9.3) "MinFreeManager"-App
"This app is not needed if you have installed SSSwitch (by voku1987)"
FOREGROUND_APP: This is the application currently on the screen, and running
VISIBLE_APP: This is an application that is open, and running in the background because it’s still doing something
SECONDARY_SERVER: This is a process (a service that an application needs) that is alive and ready in case it’s needed to do something
HIDDEN_APP: This again is a process, that sits idle (but still alive) in case it’s needed by an app that’s alive and running
CONTENT_PROVIDER: This is apps that provide data (content) to the system. HTCFacebook Sync? That’s a CONTENT_PROVIDER. So are things like the Android Market, or Fring. If they are alive, they can refresh and provide the content they are supposed to at the set interval. If you kill them, they can’t of course.
EMPTY_APP: I call these “ghosts.” They are apps that you have opened, but are done with them. Android uses a unique style of handling memory management. When an activity is ended, instead of killing it off Android keeps the application in memory so that opening them again is a faster process. Theses “ghost” apps use no battery or CPU time, they just fill RAM that would be otherwise empty. When this memory is needed by a different application or process, the RAM is flushed and made available for the new app. To satisfy the geekier people (like myself) Android does this by keeping a list of recently used apps, with the oldest apps in the list given the lowest priority — they are killed first if RAM is needed elsewhere. This is a perfect way to handle ‘ghost’ processes, so there’s no need to touch this part

10.) enable or disable Apps2SD via Samdroid Tools
-> Only if you have a fast SD-card and you need more space for your apps, you can create a new partition on your SD-card (in the recovery menu > "Advanced" > "Partition SD Card" > e.g. 512MB) but please backup all your data on the external SD-card before you do it!!!!!!
"Samdroid Tools " > "Apps2sd settings" ...
alternative: native Apps2SD without second partition on the SD-card
Code:"Settings" > "SpicagenMod settings" > "Application Settings" ...
11.) "Convert all to EXT2"
-> This will convert your System / Data / Cache partition to EXT2 a fast but maybe not so secure filesystem ...
I/O speed optimized - I/O performance boost: convert all to EXT2 -> in one zip !!
- Launcher: "ADW Launcher EX ($3.29)"
- App-Manager: "AppAdmin"
