Looks like we got another dev here.

It seems i will also need to rewrite the 2d driver, because it's buggy as hell and the 3d driver will depend on some of its functions... but it's a way easier task, as the driver is much less complex.

I'm starting to think that samsung seriously screwed up the whole platform...

You should maybe use the Windows CE drivers source code as a base. Watching the Youtube videos
it looks like they are pretty well working.
I dont have a link atm, but there are open 3D drivers for Wndows CE, i a least remember to have them
    seen somewhere.

OK, if you find them somewhere, please let me know. I will try to get a basic 2d driver to work today by then.

guys, samsung intercept comes on the 11th july or something like that and from the leaks it seems to have also an 800mhz cpu, most probably the S3C6410. now, there is chance that it has working drivers. the different resolution isn't a problem in this case, init ?

That's great to hear, perhaps I can finally play Robo Defense without lag!
And I hope it's fun for you to write, you'll surely get a lot of appreciation from all over the world.

Do you believe that samsung will write a piece of new code for an already done (in their opinion) platform? Also the Intercept is told to have Android 2.1 inside, so still no native OpenGL drivers for 2.2 and future releases. My private target is to provide a set of open source drivers for the platform, so i will proceed with the driver anyway.

Neh, actually I don't expect it, since I've seen what samsung is capable of... Your effort is greatly appreciated, of course and I really wish you can succeed doing it. It will be times better to have a set of open source drivers anyway.

I think you mean that one:
OpenGL compatibility layer for Omnia 2 | Download OpenGL compatibility layer for Omnia 2 software for free at SourceForge.net
it was a project for the omnia2!
