    i was reading xm kernels. what would be the minimum req. for this to work?

    minimum req. for what?
    Kernels don't have anything special requirement.

    i mean can i just upload it via odin (tar) or zip (recovery)? like for example do i have to be on a certain LK2.08 or LK2.09 something before i can use it? or after flashing fresh one can i go ahead using it?

    im sorry for asking this im not done reading the whole thread.

    btw, im not using any samdroid tools. my phone is basic. dxjc4 > lk2.08 > lk2.09.4.

    XM kernels have filesystem conversion in recovery, worked for me.
    If you want to have fastest- convert all 2 ext2 but there is a risk of loosing your data in case of sudden power loss
    If you want to have safe but fast- convert data to ext4, system and cache to ext2
