Default Opening apps to slow, any suggestion? Quadrant score too low!

    Hey people,

I have the config in my signature, I dont have much apps, I dont use app2sd, but dont know why it take a lot of time opening system apps (contacts, phone, handcent SMS, gallery). My phone is very smooth and fast with LauncherPRO and opening most apps, but those apps it tooks sometimes 3-6 seconds to open, wich is very annoying because that's what I use most. I already had without UV but honestly I dont felt any relevant difference.

    There's anything I can do?

From what I see with seePU the problem is not lack of memory, this happens when CPU is at 100%!

    Any ideas?

    A few ideas:
    • Reboot
    • Remove Seepu, see my post about that, it eats a lot from linpack mflops (it that matters to you) I can only assume it's abit heavy somwhow.
    • Probably a function of various memory tweaks you have in effect. Just a reminder that the spica just has too low ram for it to be efficient in memory management, I see it all the time with my home app (whatever it is be it lp, tw3, zeam) reloading everytime I return to home after say using opera or games.

    Thanks for the quick answer.

Well to memory management I only use Autokiller with "moderate preset". I'm uninstalling now. Do you advice for any memory management app?

    Uninstalling seepu too, and rebooting.

My linpack score is always around ~ 8.6 MFLOPS. What Linpack measures anyway ?

Without seepu you should be able to get 9 normally now.

With ext mod? Yes its too low. 440 up should be normal with FE.

I dont, I think since we're on FE let's use antibyte's settings and use no memory manager at all. I use minfreemanager before but now set it my phone to default. I DO use a manual task killer when an app doesnt want to exit properly.

I'll reflash my phone from the zero. Every update i'll do will test quadrant standart (i have the info that the application could not run properly i hope there no prob).

    Thanks for advice!

    edit: oops, with quadrant 1.1.1 advanced I get total 446, cpu 600, memory 335, i/o 972 2D: 208 and 3D: 117

well, i think this way the only thing unusual its the I/O score! however I still have a lot of lag when I dial a number... and why there's such a difference for you and me for I/O ?

Clear your apps' cache. Maybe it works.
