Experimental Kernel and Libraries to improve Samdroid

    Projects

    Frozen Eclair
This brings the Froyo (Android 2.2) Dalvik Virtual Machine (DVM) to Eclair.
Codename FroYo = Frozen Yoghurt + Eclair = Frozen Eclair
Speed of Apps doubles in average compared to Eclair !
As a welcome side effect your battery will last some hours longer.
It also brings with it additional libraries compiled for best performance
    with some added tweaks.
But it only works for deodexed Firmwares !
The negative side : A few Apps may not work, mostly games.
Starting with V7 Frozen Eclair also contains the Turbo Kernel as some
bugfixes to improve stability have been merged.

    Samdroid Turbo Kernel
Linux Kernel for the GT-I5700 compiled with maximum compiler
optimizations for best possible speed plus some performance tweaks.

    Changelog

    Frozen Eclair V7
    • Seems to be the most stable version ever
    • Many bugfixes and improvements merged from latest AOSP and Kernel 2.6.35 sources
    • Camera Bugs fixed (read comment below)
    • Gabriel-LG's awesome Multitouch Driver v2
    • From now on you will always find a known stable, a beta and, if needed,
    • a bugfix package inside this little post
    • Known Problems:
    • Shortly before the release it was discoverd that the Camera driver i merged
    • from another Samsung Phone fixes the dark camera bug, but also some settings
    • in the camera app no longer work. I will try to find a fix, but for the moment it
    • is still in this release. Taking pictures works without problems.
    • Another problem is that there is still some lag in the UI sometimes.
    • This will be fixed in the next release.
    Older changelog entries

This is no "install and be happy" Mod ! There can be bugs and problems !
But it should mostly just work fine. If you spot problems or bugs please post them here.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    Q: How can i remove this ?

If it's just a kernel change, then it's Lkmod Turbo instead of Samdroid turbo.

Nice job tho, especially like the V8 javascript engine

edit: you should make it boot into recovery after flashing.

    edit:

    Speed benchmarks:
The 'v8' implementation seems to have failed...
    sunspider results:
    Spica + 'v8'
    46822 ms

with v8 you would expect a WAY better result...
(could somone without the mod do a benchmark here? )

    2d speed test:
    before: 40 fps avg
    after: 49 fps avg

    3d performance has been decreased.
speedx lags, screen flashes, bad performance.

Спасибо за проделанную работу. Я уже скачиваю
это, для установки через рекавери. Надеюсь это
    будет работать с конструктором L.K.2.07beta1
    -----------------------
Thanks for the done work. I already download it, for
installation through recovery. I hope it will work
    with designer L.K.2.07beta1

Based on LK2.05 + VOIP and Volume patches.
    No new recovery atm.

---------- Post added at 09:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:10 PM ----------

Should work with any installation from kitchen.
The Library package alone should also work on any Spica phone with a recent firmware.
But installing both kernel + libs gives best performance.

    @HTD

It 'feels' faster, but that might be becouse of the reboot. Doing a sunspider test right now, but it takes quite a while...
