Perhaps some people here know how to do it, but this tutorial is for newbies who want to customize their spica ...
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR SPICA !!
1.) custom boot logo
1) basics:
The boot logo must be in the format: png (320 x 480 pixel, 24 bit true color, to be smaller than 150kb to be safe) and name : logo.png
I have it saved without interlaced, do not know if it works with ...
If the logo has too much kb your spica can be seriously damaged !
(no booting & no download mode, you have to change board !!!)
2) create .tar archive:
attached you will find a homemade tool named "logo_creator" wich can create suitable, android-compatible . tar archive when you are using windows
it will create . tar archive from your logo.png file (the ending ". PDA.tar" will be added automatically, you just need to specify a name, eg "MyLogo")
It is written in VB i.e. needs. NET installed framework so that it works (no idea what version)
(no credits to me, it is written by a member called "windofbastler2 from german android forum)
3) get onto mobile:
flash the mylogo.PDA.tar file with odin as PDA, use the new spica.ops file
it takes about 7 seconds, the cell phone bootes again, you see your logo and odin says : pass
EASY WAY : flash in recovery
attached is update.zip with my bootlogo
you can open zip and change bootlogo with yours
-> boot to recovery -> apply any zip
that´s it
2.) custom boot animation
different workout :
actually it is not difficult, you need a folder with pictures called "part0" and a desc.txt file
my desc.txt contains the following code:
256 64 0 0 10p part0p
256 64 are the dimensions of my images (width / height)
10p is the number of images per second that are played
this desc.txt file is made for one images folder, it will be played in loop until the cell phone has finished booting;
the number of those images is (i think) not important , I tried first with 20 and then with 34, has worked both
now you have to make the zip-file , like this (i did with windows, used winRAR)
-> mark : Folder part0 & desc.txt -> Add to archive
-> Archive Format: ZIP
-> Compression method: save (no compression, see screenshot !)
-> Archive Name: bootanimation.zip
now your. zip is finished;
move the the whole .zip file to :
data/local folder (it will use "private" memory from you apps)
or to
system/media folder (like in samdroid mod, it will use memory of your system, like firmware ...)
the next reboot you should see your animation

.) logo creator
.) my bootanimation (no big thing, just the first one for trying ...)
