Angry apps2sd messup - running out of storage space

    Hi All
I am completely clueless on the correct apps2sd configuration I should use. I don't have many apps installed, but space is really on the edge. I am getting "low space" on a frequent basis, and I'd like to fix this problem for once and for all. Going through the forums, and reading the faq only made me more confused:

    My phone configuration:
    • Spicagen + mod X, using lukiqq kernel V9.
    • SD card is fat32, with one partition only .

I think I enabled all possible "apps2sd" config options I could find (and this is probably what makes this mess):
    • Under spicagenmod settings-->applications, I have "allow application moving" checked, and install location = automatic
    • Under Samdroid tools--> apps2sd settings, I have "Enable Apps2sd" checked.

If I look at my SD card, I see that some apps are located in /mnt/asec. I also have an empy sd-ext directory.

In the attached image, you can see that some apps are in the /mnt/asec directory, but some are listed twice, as appearing in both /data, and /sd-ext dirs (althouth the latter is really empty, as I said before).

Can someone please answer the following questions:
    1. Which configuration should I use (samdroid tools, or spicagen) ?
    2. Once I set the correct config, how do I make all the apps in the internal memory go to mnt/asac ?

    thanks,
    ardroid

You need to create a ext2 Partition from recovery for app2sd to work.

I believe this is not true any more: /mnt/asac is apps2sd on fat32, isn't it ? I wonder who crteated /mnt/asac is it spicagenmod, samdroidtools, or maybe even android 2.2 OS ?Same question for /sd-ext. Who created it ? Why do I have it as an unused directory in my internal memory ?

    still confused,

    i think :

spicagenmod settings is used to force android to install to sdcard using DEFAULT ANDROID APPS2SD. so spicagenmod settings is working together with default android apps2sd.

samdroid tools is used to make symlink between /data/app and /sd-ext/app so apps wont use internal memory anymore since its moved to /sd-ext/app by samdroid tools apps2sd.

    they cant be used together

I have the same problem. I have formatted my SD with 1 gb SD ext partition. But apps don't go in SD directly. I have to move them manually. Plus half of the app remain on internal memory.

Thanks. I checked off the samdroid apps2sd, and remained with only spicagen apps2sd. I managed to move some of my apps to /mnt/asec, but this still leaves me with very little free space.

What is the best way to partition my sdcard, and move the apps to the new partition ? Also as written in the prev. post above, can apps be installed automatically in this partition, or do you have to move it one by one, after app was in stalled in int. memory ?

    thanks,
    ardroid
