How to disable Gmail?

Go to google.com, then log off from there.

So i got a problem, everytime i enable DATA NETWORK (3g/gprs) gmail opens and connects to check mail, but that means, that it eat's megabytes.

So the question is, how to disable it or remove it?
I'm using CM8.

Install links2sd from market. Open it and uninstall or freeze gmail application. It will not effect market.
