    Exclamation unable to partition SD!!

i am honestly not sure what the problem is:
i entered recovery (CM 2.5) and tried to partition my SD as ext....1024M,64M swap...it showed me "Done!" all right.
but when i tried to mount sd-ext / format sd-ext, it gave me an error saying the ext partition does not exist, nor did it show up in app2SD (available mem on SD=89Mb).
I talked with Jay and he suggested it might be a problem related to SGM, so i switched to CM, but still no use..
    what do i do?
i need to partition it as spica's internal mem is honestly too low.....any help guys??

    abhinavjha,

did you first formatted the sd card on the PC in FAT32 format?
