I currently have cyanogenmod 6.1 on my spica, with criminal's kernel. Would you recomend me giving MIUI a try? If so, when installing through recovery, will it update to a diferent kernel? Because I'm not sure I want to stick with MIUI so I did a TAR backup in the recovery menu.
