I tried the v1.4 ICS statusbar patcher, but i had the issue that with the transparant statusbar, the old icons arent removed after their location changes.

resulting in the following statusbar chaos:
    statusbar-chaos.png
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    (like re-applying something)

or how to avoid getting this in the first place?

what were you trying to apply? looks like the patcher failed to be honest... the layout hasn't changed at all, just created a mess in the status bar

Try flashing the 'undo' pack, rebooting, then reflashing the patch

plus, when you DID flash the patch, did you have /system and /data mounted in recovery?

If it still doesn't work, try AChep's layout - looks the same

Are you made patch with patched SystemUI.apk? If yes, you must get it clear, for eg. unpacking from tom3q's ROM. If this problem appear again, write here

yeah, i should have been more clear about the scenario:

I tried the 1.4 patcher before, but didnt mount system/data, so it always failed. I kept the _patch and _undo zips though. And didnt install any other mod after that.
After i read here that i had to mount system/data, i mounted those partitions and tried the _patch zip (+undo + patch again) and it worked. Meaning that the layout of the notifications creen was changed properly.
The statusbar was screwed up though.
So i applied the undo zip. This changed the layout back to the original layout, but the statusbar remained f*cked

I dont know exactly which .apk's were pulled during the patch process on my pc.
ADDED: But I never applied a patch before, so i'm assuming the system apk's were clean from the start.

I also found, that using the ICS theme from ACHep, the left part of the notifications doesnt get the striped background.
The last version that i had running was v26 (its at v28/v29 now i i havent tried those yet.) So that might be fixed already.

Long story short, I think i'll just do a completely fresh install and try the 1.6 patcher after that.
The thing that just bugs me is that the transparant statusbar patch doesnt seem to be working right.

I also thik that this is a great thread, but that there are too many subjects that this thread is about (theme, patcher, lockscreen) Plus that the thread is labeled with the general title 'helpdesk'

I'd rather see on thread with a tutorial on installing the theme, the statusbar and the lockscreen.
(And written in n00b-proof english, with lots of screenshots preferably )

I'd actualy be willing to write it myself, if i get the time to get it working correctly on my own phone.

After a few reboots, and applying v28 of the ICS theme, the statusbar started refreshing normaly again.
So i guess there's no reason for that reset after all

Depends.. The issue might not be resolved
But right now, its good news, yeah
Perhaps that the HDPI theme that i used before screwed up the statusbar, though.

If you've modded your build.prop to run an HDPI theme then you'll need to edit it again and put the dpi back to 160 if you want to use an actual MDPI theme... I should probably add this to the bottom of my work around

    Good idea,
I did mod my build.prop file, with a density of 140, but not to run HDPI themes, just because i like to have more information on my screen.
I probably have because of the illusion that when things are smaller on your screen, you have a higher-res screen, therefor making it look like a better phone
But it also actualy serves a purpose.
I have a 'did you find my hone contact this person:..." text on my lockscreen, which takes up space. Therefor with my density on 160, the lock-orbs, would overlap. Ugly. With my density on 140 this issue was solved.

Right, a little addition to your 'patching' section:

If you want to use AChep's ICS Theme, plus his ICS Layout alongside DameonAndMegan's ICS Lockscreen mod, you need to do it in a certain way:
(I have nothing against ZduneX25's ICS Theme/Layout but I've not used them personally, so I can't comment on how they work...)

    1) download and install AChep's ICS theme from the market

    2) download the ICS_Lock_CM7.1-signed.zip file from the lockscreen link above

    3) flash that lockscreen file from recovery

    4) download AChep's patcher software but while using it DO NOT INCLUDE FRAMEWORK-RES.APK
(When I first tried this, it worked brilliantly, but when I re-applied the lockscreen I just got bootloops)

You don't see any difference (not that I can notice) between the layout WITH the framework-res or without it, it still looks great - I just think that with the patcher NOT allowing you to mod the framework-res after applying the layout, it makes it a little limited to be honest

Of course - if anyone has a way to get around this with actually applying the framework-res part of the layout too (as well as changes with/without the framework-res that I didn't notice) feel free to let me know
    Two questions:
    1) Will ICS Lockscreen mod work just after flashing in recovery or I need to do some amendments in some patcher?
    2) Do I need installed ADB drivers to use AChep's patcher? I have still problems with that (Windows XP)- simple method with connecting phone and installing drivers doesn't work.
