If you reinstall the 7.2 base package then it will undo the mods as it will overwrite the files that were modified.

If you just install the 7.3 update then the mod stays intact.

Ok, so this means that your zip can also be applied after you update to 7.3, since the modded files aren't changed by the 7.3 update, so your pre-patched files will not cause any incompabilities with the (possible new ) system files from a 7.3 - set-up.
