Currently I'm using v1 multitouch driver. I'm thinking about using kernel with v2 of multitouch. Is it worth upgrading just for that?

This is a limitation of the multitouch controller not of the driver. The same thing happens on devices that have "native" drivers, so i don't think there's any way to fix it.
