Hi everyone!
After having an ubuntu install wipe my windows partition without permission, I'm a bit annoyed, but it's given me time to refresh my memory on Ubuntu. With the aim of trying to minimise audio latency I tried to use a low-latency or realtime kernel- The results were pretty impressive.
I have nothing to show yet, but I wonder if we can implement a similar Kernel build to Android- I'm not particularly experienced in the area and there may be many reasons this remains impossible, but it could be worth a shot.
At the moment, audio processing itself causes a noticable slowdown in many apps- triggering a sample playing causes a short pause.Adding RT may improve this, or it may make it worse (by forcing higher audio priority)
What do you think? Any thoughts on the subject? I'm up for giving it a go.

Oops, Although this is a developer related thread, perhaps I should have posted it in the discussion forums since there's no actual release yet- Please move it if required- sorry!
